A Company History. Roundtree Landscaping, Inc., (RLI) a full service design/build firm, was founded in 1984 by Johnette Roundtree Taylor. RLI specializes in both residential and commercial projects and is dedicated to providing only the highest quality professional services. Since founding the company, Johnette, a graduate of LSU's School of Landscape Architecture, has developed an expanding portfolio of landscape design, installation and maintenance projects. Mrs. Taylor's expertise in landscape design and construction has helped RLI transform in many ways over the last 18 years. As a full service design/build firm, Roundtree Landscaping, Inc. has the unique ability to provide the continuity of seeing a project from inception to completion. This has greatly enhanced RLI's ability to offer hands-on experience to all aspects of the job, large or small.

Over the last six years, the RLI team has grown three fold. As our client base expands, we are able to meet all of our clients' needs with an incredible creative force. Because of our innovative, award-winning approach to design, irrigation, installation and property management, RLI continues to set the pace in the landscape industry.

STAFF PROFILES

JOHNETTE ROUNDTREE TAYLOR
Registered Landscape Architect/President

Ms.Taylor is both the president of Roundtree Landscaping, Inc., and a Licensed Landscape Architect. She earned her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Louisiana State University in 1981. Prior to founding Roundtree Landscaping, she served as Corporate Secretary/Treasurer and Landscape Designer for Rosedale Nurseries, Inc. Ms.Taylor is also a Licensed Irrigator and a certified Irrigation Auditor in the state of Texas. An active member of ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects), and TNLA (Texas Nursery and Landscape Association); Ms.Taylor is past Chairman of Dallas Region of TNLA. Currently she serves as one of the two board representatives for the Landscape Division for the state TNLA. She is also an active member of the Landscape Committee for the State of Texas –TNLA, chairing this committee for the past two years. In addition, Ms.Taylor teaches a course on “Residential Landscape Design”, through the Adult Education Program at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Society where she serves on the Gardens and Grounds committee. She also is President of the Texas Green Industry Workman’s Compensation Board and the 2007 recipient of the Tabor Award for professionalism in Landscape in the Dallas Region of TNLA. Johnette is also a member of PLANET (Professional Landcare Network).

BERIT ANNE HUTSON

Registered Landscape Architect / Manager

Berit is a graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Horticulture. After college she worked on a golf course in Bloomington, IL for several years on the grounds crew and then at a Chicago area nursery. Berit moved back to Bloomington as the City Horticulturist for 8 years. While working for the City of Bloomington, Berit became a Certified Arborist and has maintained that certification for over 20 years. Berit went to work for State Farm Insurance Company in 1990 as a Landscape Designer. She was responsible for site planning, planting and irrigation design and construction observation for State Farm facilities across the country. Berit passed the Landscape Architects’ Exam in 1995. She is licensed in the states of Texas, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. Berit is also a Certified Irrigation Designer and Certified Irrigation Auditor. Berit is also a member of ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects), ISA (International Society of Arborists), and the Irrigation Association. She became a licensed Texas irrigator in 2005.    

SUZANNE MARIE OUREN
Landscape Division Manager/Designer

Suzanne is a graduate of Texas A&M University receiving her Bachelor of Business Administration/Marketing in 1979. She continued her education combining her TAMU minor in Horticulture with the degree program at Richland College in Dallas and received her Associates Degree in Horticulture in 1984. Throughout her college years she gained experience in the green industry working in garden centers, floral design and cut flower production. Suzanne began her first company in Dallas in 1981 and owned and operated Florascapes which included landscape maintenance, design/build, interiorscapes and a retail nursery. In 1990 she managed the landscape department for Nicholson-Hardie in Dallas. She joined Shades of Green, Frisco in 1992 and continued in landscape sales, design and installation for 12 years. Suzanne has been an active member in TNLA (Texas Nursery and Landscape Association) for 22 years and served as Chairman of the Dallas Region in 2002. She received her Texas Certified Nursery Professional certificate in 1984 and her Texas Master Certified Nursery Professional designation in 1991.

ERIC EUGENE TAYLOR
Operations Manager

Eric is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington having received his Bachelor of Business Administration/Marketing in 1992. He has excellent customer service skills having worked in retail management for fifteen years, and for a marketing research firm in which he taught other companies how to improve their customer service. He later attended Southern Methodist University’s Networking Technologies program to earn his A+, CNA (Certified Novell Administrator), and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certifications in 2000. He is using this experience to manage our new state of the art barcode scanner system for tracking time and materials while on the job thus improving our billing and inventory processes. He is enrolled at Richland College in Dallas, pursuing his Associates degree in Horticulture to increase his knowledge in this growing industry.
